In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy Eagles basketball team scored a big 60-35 triumph over the Kaplan Pirates.

The Eagles (8-17) will now prepare for their contest against Abbeville (Abbeville, LA). The Wildcats go into the 3A District 5 contest with a 19-15 record. In their last contest, Abbeville smashed Erath (Erath, LA), 63-23, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Pirates confront the Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, January 22. Kaplan will attempt to better on its 1-24 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 13-10 record after their 61-29 non-league win over New Iberia (New Iberia, LA).
