In Friday's league contest, the visiting Alburnett Pirates basketball team scored a good 65-56 triumph over the Maquoketa Valley Wildcats.

The Pirates (10-2) will now prepare for their contest against North Linn (Troy Mills, IA). The Lynx go into the Tri-Rivers contest with a 13-1 record. In their last contest, North Linn topped Edgewood-Colesburg (Edgewood, IA), 75-26, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Starmont Stars (Arlington, IA) in a Tri-Rivers contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Maquoketa Valley will attempt to better on its 7-5 season record. The Stars go into the contest with a 6-8 record after their 67-48 league win over East Buchanan (Winthrop, IA).
