North Carolina High School Basketball - Avery County routed by Mitchell

The Mitchell Mountaineers bounced the visiting Avery County Vikings basketball squad by a final score of 78-35 in Friday's league outing.

Next, the Mountaineers clash with the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a 1A/2A Western Highlands outing, on Tuesday, January 21. Mitchell will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Patriots enter the outing with a 7-8 record after their 67-60 league win over Owen (Black Mountain, NC).

The Vikings (8-6) will now prepare for their outing against Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Tigers go into the 1A/2A Western Highlands game with a 1-10 record. In their last game, Rosman was ripped by NCSSM: Morganton (Morganton, NC), 60-29, in a league game.
