The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Wyoming East Warriors (New Richmond, WV) and the host Bluefield Beavers (Bluefield, WV), observed Wyoming East's basketball team knock off Bluefield by a score of 66-55.

The Warriors (5-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Summers County (Hinton, WV). The Bobcats come into the Coalfield AA challenge with a 1-7 record. In their last challenge, Summers County prevailed over Greenbrier West (Charmco, WV), 78-72, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Beavers encounter the Princeton Tigers (Princeton, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 24. Bluefield will attempt to improve on its 0-7 season record.
