The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the South Grand Prairie Warriors (Grand Prairie, TX) and the visiting Bowie Volunteers (Arlington, TX), observed South Grand Prairie's basketball team knock off Bowie by a score of 61-47.

The Warriors (16-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Sam Houston (Arlington, TX). The Texans come into the 6A Region I District 8 challenge with a 8-16 record.

In their next game, the Volunteers encounter the Grand Prairie Gophers (Grand Prairie, TX) in a 6A Region I District 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Bowie will attempt to improve on its 16-9 season record. The Gophers come into the challenge with a 12-9 record after their 62-48 league win over Lamar (Arlington, TX).
