The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the North Pontotoc Vikings (Ecru, MS) and the visiting Byhalia Indians (Byhalia, MS), observed North Pontotoc's basketball team overcome Byhalia by a margin of 72-57.

The Vikings (7-15) will now prepare for their challenge against South Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Cougars come into the 4A Region 2 challenge with a 12-9 record. In their last challenge, South Pontotoc dropped by New Albany (New Albany, MS), 66-62, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Indians battle the Senatobia Warriors (Senatobia, MS) in a 4A Region 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Byhalia will attempt to better on its 4-14 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 13-5 record after their 58-51 non-league win over Independence (Independence, MS).
