In Friday's league test, the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) basketball squad trounced the host Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM), by a score of 62-23.

Next, the Cougars encounter the Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) in a 3A District 1 test, on Saturday, January 18. Tohatchi will attempt to improve on its 15-2 season record. The Hawks come into the test with a 7-6 record after their 59-41 league win over Newcomb (Newcomb, NM).

The Eagles (4-11) will now prepare for their test against Zuni (Zuni, NM). The Thunderbirds come into the 3A District 1 test with a 10-6 record. In their last test, Zuni was routed by Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM), 94-56, in a league test.
