Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Youngker Roughriders (Buckeye, AZ), 76-70 in a league match.

With the victory, Desert Edge advances its record to 6-12 on the year. The Scorpions travel to Canyon View (Waddell, AZ) to face the Jaguars in a 5A Desert West match on Tuesday, January 21. The Jaguars enter the match with a record of 14-1.

The Roughriders now own a 3-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fairfax for a non-league match on Thursday, January 23. Youngker will face a Stampede squad coming off a 76-48 non-league loss to La Joya Community (Avondale, AZ). The Stampede record now stands at 6-13.
