The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the South Gibson Hornets (Medina, TN) and the host Dyer County Choctaws (Newbern, TN), observed South Gibson's basketball team knock off Dyer County by a score of 82-63.

The Hornets (12-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Gibson County (Dyer, TN). The Pioneers come into the non-league challenge with a 9-10 record. In their last challenge, Gibson County prevailed over Westview (Martin, TN), 77-58, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Choctaws encounter the Dyersburg Trojans (Dyersburg, TN) in a 3A District 13 challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Dyer County will attempt to improve on its 5-13 season record.
