In Friday's league contest, the host Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes basketball team scored a big 70-47 triumph over the Menomonie Mustangs.

The Old Abes (9-3) will now prepare for their contest against Linn-Mar (Marion, IA). The Lions go into the non-league contest with a 11-3 record. In their last contest, Linn-Mar smashed Cedar Falls (Cedar Falls, IA), 69-61, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Chippewa Falls Cardinals (Chippewa Falls, WI) in a Big Rivers contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Menomonie will attempt to better on its 5-7 season record. The Cardinals go into the contest with a 0-12 record after their 74-46 league loss to New Richmond (New Richmond, WI).
