Utah High School Basketball - Merit Preparatory Academy routs Freedom Prep Academy

In Friday's league contest, the host Merit Preparatory Academy Knights basketball team scored a big 74-29 triumph over the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles.

The Knights (11-4) will now prepare for their contest against Vanguard Academy (West Valley City, UT). The Knights go into the 2A Region 16 contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Vanguard Academy smashed Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, UT), 71-69, in a non-league contest.

Next up, the Eagles face the Utah Military Academy - Hill Field Thunderbirds (Riverdale, UT) in a 2A Region 16 match, on Tuesday, January 21. Freedom Prep Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Thunderbirds enter the match with a 7-9 record after their 62-31 league win over Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams (Lehi, UT).
