The Gibbs Eagles basketball squad (Corryton, TN), was nudged 62-60 in Friday's league battle with the host Union County Patriots (Maynardville, TN)

With the victory, Union County advances its record to 7-4 on the year. The Patriots travel to Anderson County (Clinton, TN) to meet the Mavericks in a 3A District 4 battle on Tuesday, January 21. The Mavericks enter the battle with a record of 5-7.

The Eagles now own a 8-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Scott for a 3A District 4 battle on Tuesday, January 21. Gibbs will meet a Highlanders squad coming off a 59-54 league win over Cumberland Gap (Cumberland Gap, TN). The Highlanders record now stands at 9-5.
