In Friday's league contest, the host Gosnell Pirates basketball team scored a close 69-68 triumph over the Pocahontas Redskins.
The Pirates (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Brookland (Brookland, AR). The Bearcats go into the 4A Region 3 contest with a 7-10 record.
In their next game, the Redskins battle the Blytheville Chickasaws (Blytheville, AR) in a 4A Region 3 contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Pocahontas will attempt to better on its 10-9 season record. The Chickasaws go into the contest with a 10-5 record after their 55-45 league win over Highland (Hardy, AR).
