The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Grant Union Prospectors (John Day, OR) and the host Heppner Mustangs (Heppner, OR), observed Grant Union's basketball team knock off Heppner by a score of 52-39.

The Prospectors (9-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Enterprise (Enterprise, OR). The Outlaws come into the 2A Blue Mountain challenge with a 13-3 record. In their last challenge, Enterprise was knocked off by Stanfield (Stanfield, OR), 68-56, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the Weston-McEwen TigerScots (Athena, OR) in a 2A Blue Mountain challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Heppner will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record. The TigerScots come into the challenge with a 11-7 record after their 67-43 non-league win over Joseph (Joseph, OR).
