In Friday's league test, the Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA) basketball squad defeated the host Grassfield Grizzlies (Chesapeake, VA), by a score of 70-58.

Next, the Hawks clash with the Oscar Smith Tigers (Chesapeake, VA) in a Southeastern test, on Tuesday, January 21. Hickory will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record.

The Grizzlies (4-6) will now prepare for their test against Currituck County (Barco, NC). The Knights come into the non-league test with a 10-5 record. In their last test, Currituck County went down by Holmes (Edenton, NC), 61-56, in a league test.
