The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV) and the host Greenbrier West Cavaliers (Charmco, WV), observed Summers County's basketball team edge Greenbrier West by a margin of 78-72.

The Bobcats (1-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV). The Warriors come into the Coalfield AA challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Wyoming East edged Bluefield (Bluefield, WV), 66-55, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cavaliers battle the Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) in a Coalfield AA challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Greenbrier West will attempt to better on its 2-3 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 63-43 league win over Sherman (Seth, WV).
