In Friday's league contest, the host Magnolia Heights Chiefs basketball team scored a good 53-35 triumph over the Starkville Academy Volunteers.
The Chiefs (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Heritage Academy (Columbus, MS). The Patriots go into the MAIS 5A District 1 contest with a 15-5 record. In their last contest, Heritage Academy topped Pillow Academy (Greenwood, MS), 63-30, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Volunteers confront the Bayou Academy Colts (Cleveland, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 1 contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Starkville Academy will attempt to better on its 15-6 season record. The Colts go into the contest with a 3-11 record after their 60-45 league loss to Rossville Christian Academy (Rossville, TN).
