In Friday's league contest, the host Slippery Rock Rockets basketball team scored a big 63-34 triumph over the Mercer Mustangs.

The Rockets (10-4) will now prepare for their contest against Hickory (Hermitage, PA). The Hornets go into the District 10 Region 4 contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Hickory was trounced by Sharon (Sharon, PA), 73-54, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Farrell Steelers (Farrell, PA) in a District 10 Region 4 contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Mercer will attempt to better on its 11-3 season record. The Steelers go into the contest with a 3-7 record after their 67-51 league loss to Hickory (Hermitage, PA).
