The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Mountainside Mavericks (Beaverton, OR) and the visiting Sunset Apollos (Portland, OR), observed Mountainside's basketball team overcome Sunset by a score of 73-56.

The Mavericks (6-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Jesuit (Portland, OR). The Crusaders come into the 6A Metro challenge with a 7-8 record. In their last challenge, Jesuit defeated Aloha (Beaverton, OR), 78-39, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Apollos battle the Beaverton Beavers (Beaverton, OR) in a 6A Metro challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Sunset will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Beavers come into the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 53-38 league loss to Westview (Portland, OR).
