In Friday's league contest, the host Pettus Eagles basketball team scored a good 52-33 triumph over the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats.

The Eagles (5-17) will now prepare for their contest against Refugio (Refugio, TX). The Bobcats go into the 2A Region IV District 31 contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Refugio was topped by Kenedy (Kenedy, TX), 61-58, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bobcats battle the Three Rivers Bulldogs (Three Rivers, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 31 contest, on Friday, January 24. Skidmore-Tynan will attempt to better on its 1-13 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 4-17 record after their 88-17 league loss to Port Aransas (Port Aransas, TX).
