Western Christian Pioneers (Salem, OR) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball team knock off the host Santiam Wolverines (Mill City, OR), 62-52 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers (12-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Salem Academy (Salem, OR). The Crusaders come into the 2A Tri-River challenge with a 10-3 record. In their last challenge, Salem Academy prevailed over Chemawa Indian (Salem, OR), 94-46, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Wolverines battle the Gervais Cougars (Gervais, OR) in a 2A Tri-River challenge, on Wednesday, January 22. Santiam will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record.
