California High School Basketball - St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy triumphant over Serra

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors (Downey, CA) and the visiting Serra Cavaliers (Gardena, CA), observed St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy's basketball team overwhelm Serra by a score of 54-30.

The Warriors (12-7) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Anthony (Long Beach, CA). The Saints come into the Del Rey challenge with a 12-6 record. In their last challenge, St. Anthony trounced St. Monica (Santa Monica, CA), 70-66, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cavaliers encounter the Lancaster Eagles (Lancaster, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Serra will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 8-12 record after their 53-50 league win over Antelope Valley (Lancaster, CA).
