South Carolina High School Basketball - Philip Simmons thwarts Academic Magnet

January 17, 2025: Charleston, SC 29492

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Philip Simmons Iron Horses (Charleston, SC) and the visiting Academic Magnet Raptors (North Charleston, SC), observed Philip Simmons's basketball team knock off Academic Magnet by a score of 39-26.

The Iron Horses (5-11) will now prepare for their challenge against North (North, SC). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 8-5 record. In their last challenge, North prevailed over Horse Creek Academy (Aiken, SC), 68-24, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Raptors encounter the Burke Bulldogs (Charleston, SC) in a AA Region 6 challenge, on Friday, January 24. Academic Magnet will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 13-5 record after their 52-28 league win over Woodland (Dorchester, SC).
