The Zavalla Eagles basketball team scored 62 points and limited the host Apple Springs Eagles to 19 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now have a 15-11 record. They play next when they host Kennard for a 1A Region IV District 27 game on Tuesday, January 21. Zavalla will confront a Tigers team coming off a 72-4 league loss to Broaddus (Broaddus, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 4-12.

With the loss, Apple Springs falls to 1-20 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Martinsville (Martinsville, TX) to confront the Pirates in a 1A Region IV District 27 game on Thursday, January 23. The Pirates go into the game with a record of 16-11. Martinsville won 54-22 in their recent league game against Centerville (Groveton, TX)
