North Carolina High School Basketball - Freedom holds off Ashe County

January 17, 2025: Morganton, NC 28655

In Friday's league contest, the host Freedom Patriots basketball team scored a close 51-46 triumph over the Ashe County Huskies.

The Patriots (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers go into the 3A/4A Northwestern contest with a 10-4 record. In their last contest, Watauga nipped R.J. Reynolds (Winston-Salem, NC), 71-20, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Huskies confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Ashe County will attempt to better on its 9-7 season record. The Spartans go into the contest with a 10-7 record after their 48-29 league win over Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).
