The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Athens Wildcats (Athens, PA) and the host Wellsboro Hornets (Wellsboro, PA), observed Athens's basketball team overcome Wellsboro by a margin of 54-35.

The Wildcats (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Canton (Canton, PA). The Warriors come into the non-league challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Canton defeated Sayre (Sayre, PA), 59-31, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the Liberty Mounties (Liberty, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Wellsboro will attempt to better on its 4-7 season record.
