The Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) basketball toppled the visiting Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA), 62-48 in Friday's league bout.
The Maroon Tide now possess a 8-1 record. They play next when they travel to George Wythe for a Mountain Empire bout on Tuesday, January 21. Galax will play a Maroons team coming off a 60-44 non-league win over Narrows (Narrows, VA). The Maroons record now stands at 9-1.
With the loss, Auburn falls to 6-8 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to play the Spartans in a Mountain Empire bout on Tuesday, January 21. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 1-10. Giles lost 58-41 in their recent league bout against Grayson County (Independence, VA)
