The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS) and the visiting Clarksdale Wildcats (Clarksdale, MS), observed West Point's basketball team edge Clarksdale by a score of 46-42.
The Green Wave (4-15) will now prepare for their challenge against Okolona (Okolona, MS). The Chieftains come into the non-league challenge with a 16-3 record. In their last challenge, Okolona edged Smithville (Smithville, MS), 61-28, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) in a 5A Region 1 challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Clarksdale will attempt to improve on its 7-11 season record.
