North Carolina High School Basketball - Northeastern can't hold off Currituck County

Currituck County Knights (Barco, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Northeastern Eagles (Elizabeth City, NC), 52-45 in a league match.

With the victory, Currituck County upgrades its record to 10-4 on the year. The Knights host Holmes (Edenton, NC) to face the Aces in a 2A/3A Northeastern Coastal match on Saturday, January 18. The Aces enter the match with a record of 3-6. Holmes won 41-40 in their recent league match against Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC)

The Eagles now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grafton for a non-league match on Saturday, January 18. Northeastern will face a Clippers squad coming off a 61-34 league win over Jamestown (Williamsburg, VA). The Clippers record now stands at 8-3.
