North Carolina High School Basketball - Purnell Swett succumbs to Douglas Byrd

The Douglas Byrd Eagles defeated the host Purnell Swett Rams basketball squad by a final score of 44-36 in Friday's league outing.

Next, the Eagles clash with the Seventy-First Falcons (Fayetteville, NC) in a 3A/4A United 8 outing, on Tuesday, January 21. Douglas Byrd will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Falcons come into the outing with a 9-6 record after their 59-55 non-league loss to West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC).

The Rams (3-10) will now prepare for their outing against Red Springs (Red Springs, NC). The Red Devils come into the non-league outing with a 3-12 record. In their last outing, Red Springs was defeated by Clinton (Clinton, NC), 56-36, in a league outing.
