The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS) and the visiting Hatley Tigers (Amory, MS), observed East Union's basketball team overwhelm Hatley by a score of 68-45.
The Urchins (16-4) will now prepare for their challenge against New Site (New Site, MS). The Royals come into the 2A Region 1 challenge with a 13-8 record. In their last challenge, New Site was routed by Mooreville (Mooreville, MS), 58-57, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Tigers encounter the Hamilton Lions (Hamilton, MS) in a 2A Region 1 challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Hatley will attempt to move on its 11-7 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 3-11 record after their 57-40 league loss to Walnut (Walnut, MS).
