California High School Basketball - El Capitan sneaks past Helix

January 17, 2025: La Mesa, CA 91941

The El Capitan Vaqueros basketball team scored 57 points and limited the host Helix Highlanders to 54 in the Vaqueros league triumph on Friday.

The Vaqueros now possess a 18-3 record. They play next when they travel to Steele Canyon for a Grossmont - Hills game on Tuesday, January 21. El Capitan will play a Cougars team coming off a 52-45 league loss to Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 7-13.

With the loss, Helix falls to 8-8 on the campaign. The Highlanders travel to Fallbrook (Fallbrook, CA) to play the Warriors in a non-league game on Monday, January 20. The Warriors go into the game with a record of 11-6. Fallbrook won 52-35 in their recent non-league game against San Diego (San Diego, CA)
