The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Gardiner Tigers (Gardiner, ME) and the visiting Messalonskee Eagles (Oakland, ME), observed Gardiner's basketball team knock off Messalonskee by a score of 58-38.

The Tigers (6-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Hoosac Valley (Cheshire, MA). The Hurricanes come into the non-league challenge with a 7-3 record. In their last challenge, Hoosac Valley prevailed over Wahconah Regional (Dalton, MA), 49-47, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Camden Hills Windjammers (Rockport, ME) in a A North challenge, on Friday, January 24. Messalonskee will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record.
