In Friday's league contest, the host St. Mary's Knights basketball team scored a big 80-26 triumph over the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds.
The Knights (14-0) will now prepare for their contest against New Ulm Cathedral (New Ulm, MN). The Greyhounds go into the A Section 2 contest with a 2-12 record. In their last contest, New Ulm Cathedral was trounced by Sleepy Eye (Sleepy Eye, MN), 50-41, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Thunderbirds confront the Sibley East Wolverines (Arlington, MN) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 20. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will attempt to better on its 4-11 season record. The Wolverines go into the contest with a 6-11 record after their 61-60 league win over Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial (Lake Crystal, MN).
