The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Henderson Lions (Henderson, TX) and the visiting Pine Tree Pirates (Longview, TX), observed Henderson's basketball team knock off Pine Tree by a score of 44-30.

The Lions (11-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Cumberland Academy (Tyler, TX). The Knights come into the 4A Region II District 16 challenge with a 7-21 record. In their last challenge, Cumberland Academy was knocked off by Spring Hill (Longview, TX), 35-29, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Pirates encounter the Chapel Hill Bulldogs (Tyler, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Pine Tree will attempt to improve on its 15-8 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 19-8 record after their 52-41 league win over Carthage (Carthage, TX).
