The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the New Roads Jaguars (Santa Monica, CA) and the host Lennox Academy Panthers (Lennox, CA), observed New Roads's basketball team edge Lennox Academy by a score of 29-26.

The Jaguars (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against California Academy of Math & Science (Carson, CA). The Coyotes come into the Coastal challenge with a 3-7 record. In their last challenge, California Academy of Math & Science was tipped by Hawthorne Math & Science Academy (Hawthorne, CA), 44-30, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers encounter the Vistamar Vikings (El Segundo, CA) in a Coastal challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Lennox Academy will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 68-21 league loss to Rolling Hills Prep (San Pedro, CA).
