In Friday's league contest, the visiting Solon Springs Eagles basketball team scored a good 55-45 win over the Mellen Granite Diggers.

The Eagles (9-1) will now prepare for their bout against Bayfield (Bayfield, WI). The Trollers go into the Northern Lights bout with a 2-11 record.

With the loss, Mellen falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Granite diggers travel to South Shore (Port Wing, WI) to play the Cardinals in a Northern Lights bout on Tuesday, January 21. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 10-4. South Shore won 46-19 in their recent league bout against Lac Courte Oreilles (Hayward, WI)
