In Friday's league contest, the host North Medford Black Tornado basketball team scored a big 57-36 triumph over the South Eugene Axe.

The Black Tornado (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against South Medford (Medford, OR). The Panthers go into the 6A Southwest contest with a 12-3 record. In their last contest, South Medford was trounced by Willamette (Eugene, OR), 56-48, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Axe battle the Sprague Olympians (Salem, OR) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 21. South Eugene will attempt to better on its 5-10 season record. The Olympians go into the contest with a 6-8 record after their 57-39 league loss to South Salem (Salem, OR).
