The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Dakota Cougars (Macomb, MI) and the visiting Utica Chieftains (Utica, MI), witnessed Dakota's ice hockey team defeat Utica by a final score of 6-2.

The Cougars (11-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Port Huron Northern (Port Huron, MI). The Huskies come into the non-league challenge with a 3-11 record. In their last challenge, Port Huron Northern got by University of Detroit Jesuit (Detroit, MI), 8-3, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Chieftains battle the Anchor Bay Tars (Fair Haven, MI) in a Macomb Area - Red challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Utica will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Tars come into the challenge with a 4-7 record after their 5-2 non-league win over Saline (Saline, MI).
