Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 69-11 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Freedom advances its record to 12-1 on the year. The Patriots travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to face the Pioneers in a match on Tuesday, January 21. The Pioneers enter the match with a record of 8-2. Watauga won 72-44 in their recent league match against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)

The Huskies now own a 0-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Caldwell for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 21. Ashe County will face a Spartans squad coming off a 48-41 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 6-7.
