North Carolina High School Basketball - Avery County falls to Mitchell

The Avery County Vikings basketball squad (Newland, NC), was outscored 60-48 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC)

With the victory, Mitchell advances its record to 4-0 on the year. The Mountaineers travel to Madison (Marshall, NC) to meet the Patriots in a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 21. The Patriots enter the battle with a record of 2-7. Madison lost 58-27 in their recent non-league battle against Owen (Black Mountain, NC)

The Vikings now own a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mountain Heritage for a non-league battle on Wednesday, January 22. Avery County will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 50-35 non-league loss to Pisgah (Canton, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 3-8.
