In Friday's non-league contest, the host Carolina International Comets basketball team scored a close 46-41 triumph over the Jackson Day Mariners.
The Comets (7-6) will now prepare for their contest against Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC). The Stallions go into the contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Queen's Grant was tipped by Sugar Creek Charter (Charlotte, NC), 48-39, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Mariners battle the Valor Preparatory Academy Owls (Concord, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Jackson Day will attempt to better on its 2-8 season record. The Owls go into the contest with a 0-7 record after their 50-33 non-league loss to Sugar Creek Charter (Charlotte, NC).
