North Carolina High School Basketball - Perquimans toppled by Martin County

Martin County Gators (Williamston, NC) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC), 72-62 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Martin County advances its record to 8-5 on the year. The Gators travel to Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC) to face the Hurricanes in a non-league match on Thursday, January 23. The Hurricanes enter the match with a record of 0-11.

The Pirates now own a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bertie for a match on Tuesday, January 21. Perquimans will face a Falcons squad coming off a 57-44 league win over Washington County (Plymouth, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 8-1.
