Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA), 4-1 in a league test.

With the triumph, Steele Canyon advances its record to 1-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Helix (La Mesa, CA) to clash with the Highlanders in a Grossmont Hills test on Wednesday, January 22. The Highlanders come into the test with a record of 7-1. Helix won 2-1 in their recent league test against Santana (Santee, CA)

The Monarchs now have a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they host Gompers Prep Academy for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 21. Monte Vista will clash with a Eagles team coming off a 7-0 league win over Bayfront Charter (Chula Vista, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 6-6.
