The Valencia Jaguars basketball team (Los Lunas, NM), was nudged 49-43 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Belen Eagles (Belen, NM)
The Eagles now possess a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Highland for a 4A District 5 battle on Friday, January 21. Belen will confront a Hornets team coming off a 64-42 non-league win over Manzano (Albuquerque, NM). The Hornets record now stands at 10-3.
The Jaguars (5-13) will now prepare for their battle against St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM). The Sartans come into the 4A District 5 battle with a 10-4 record. In their last battle, St. Pius X edged Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM), 47-28, in a non-league battle.
