The Valley Vikings (Hazelton, ID) basketball nipped the visiting Carey Panthers (Carey, ID), 45-41 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Vikings (8-9) will now prepare for their test against Raft River (Malta, ID). The Trojans go into the non-league test with a 14-3 record. In their last test, Raft River was tipped by Murtaugh (Murtaugh, ID), 49-46, in a league test.
The Panthers now own a 6-7 record. They play next when they host Castleford for a 1A Sawtooth test on Thursday, January 20. Carey will encounter a Wolves squad coming off a 32-29 league loss to Hansen (Hansen, ID). The Wolves record now stands at 2-13.
