Mercy Marlins (Farmington Hills, MI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Gabriel Richard Fighting Irish (Ann Arbor, MI), 34-33 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mercy upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Marlins travel to Lutheran North (Macomb, MI) to play the Mustangs in a Catholic Central bout on Thursday, January 20. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 4-5. Lutheran North lost 49-14 in their recent league bout against Divine Child (Dearborn, MI)

Next up, the Fighting Irish play the Divine Child Falcons (Dearborn, MI) in a Catholic Central bout, on Tuesday, January 25. Gabriel Richard will attempt to upgrade on its 11-3 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 10-0 record after their 52-34 league win over Regina (Warren, MI).
