Capistrano Valley Cougars (Mission Viejo, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host San Juan Hills Stallions (San Juan Capistrano, CA), 76-64 in a league bout.

With the win, Capistrano Valley upgrades its record to 14-6 on the season. The Cougars host San Clemente (San Clemente, CA) to clash with the Tritons in a South Coast bout on Friday, January 20. The Tritons go into the bout with a record of 6-16. San Clemente lost 64-44 in their recent non-league bout against El Toro (Lake Forest, CA)

Next up, the Stallions clash with the Trabuco Hills Mustangs (Mission Viejo, CA) in a South Coast bout, on Friday, January 20. San Juan Hills will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 13-8 record after their 52-48 league loss to Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA).
