The DeWitt Dragons basketball team (DeWitt, AR), was nudged 52-46 in Wednesday's league battle with the visiting Drew Central Pirates (Monticello, AR)

The Pirates now possess a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Smackover for a 3A Region 8 battle on Saturday, January 21. Drew Central will battle a Buckaroos team coming off a 45-41 league loss to Lakeside (Hot Springs, AR). The Buckaroos record now stands at 7-7.

The Dragons (5-6) will now prepare for their battle against Dumas (Dumas, AR). The Bobcats come into the 3A Region 8 battle with a 14-6 record. In their last battle, Dumas edged Dollarway (Pine Bluff, AR), 86-26, in a league battle.
