Downey Knights (Modesto, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Pitman Pride (Turlock, CA), 52-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Downey upgrades its record to 15-5 on the season. The Knights travel to Modesto (Modesto, CA) to clash with the Panthers in a Central California Athletic League bout on Friday, January 20. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 6-12. Modesto lost 63-58 in their recent league bout against Enochs (Modesto, CA)

Next up, the Pride clash with the Turlock Bulldogs (Turlock, CA) in a Central California Athletic League bout, on Friday, January 20. Pitman will attempt to upgrade on its 14-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 12-9 record after their 78-76 league win over Gregori (Modesto, CA).
